Clubs

We run a variety of clubs to extend the learning of our pupils at Our Lady of Fatima Primary School. These are delivered by a combination of our teachers and fully qualified coaching staff.

Each term children are given the opportunity to extend their learning through our After School Clubs. They are asked to return a signed letter to school in order to gain a place. Places are limited and are offered on a 'first come first served' basis.

We usually ask for a small contribution towards the cost of delivering the clubs. This may be to purchase specialist resource or help fund a coach/teacher to deliver the activity. We will always try to keep this cost to a minimum. Any money must be paid in advance of the club taking place.

A variety of clubs is offered each term including activities developing skills in Mathematics, football, dance, tennis, multi skills, Coding, Science and Lego Robotics.

We have also forged strong links with Lordswood Girls' School who offer dance and multi skills clubs, usually during the Spring/Summer terms.

Each after school club begins promptly at 3.35pm and finishes by 5.00pm, depending on the club. Please make arrangements for your child to be collected from the school reception area. The clubs are always extremely popular and enjoyed by all.

Football Club

We have a school football team and enjoy taking part in matches with local schools and through the Catholic Partnership. We play in a range of eleven and seven a-side league and cup competitions.

The Aston Villa Football Club, which is run by professional coaches, is held on Thursdays after school.

The aim of the club is to have fun whilst learning a range of new skills and developing teamwork.

Girls from Years 5 and 6 represent our school’s Netball team.

Many Upper Junior girls would like to be part of the school netball team and look forward to their training during games lessons and lunchtimes sessions. Some of the girls have netball experience from local Little League but the majority have not played as part of a team before and are looking forward to this challenge.

There is an opportunity for the team to play within the school’s Multi Academy Partnership and of course games are organised by the Birmingham Catholic Schools’ Primary Netball Tournament which is held annually in March.

Good luck girls!

Robotics Club

Our Lady of Fatima Primary School is excited to now have its very own Robotics Club.

Supporting the development of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics within the school, small groups of children are given the opportunity to create their own robot using our very own Lego Mindstorm kits.

The club takes place on Thursday lunchtimes, with pupils being selected to attend on a termly basis. We look forward to entering our first team in the First Lego League!

Science Club

Our Lady of Fatima School has started a weekly Science Club in conjunction with staff from Oldbury Academy. Pupils have an opportunity to further develop their scientific skills through activities and investigations in Biology, Physics and Chemistry. The Club offers separate opportunities for Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 pupils and has proved to be very popular.

Sing and Play Club

The Sing and Play After School Club started in the summer term 2015 with a group of budding and enthusiastic Ukulele players. By the end of the first session, they had all learnt two chords and two songs then there was just no stopping them. They are now working their way through the song book. Well done to all the players and their talented teacher.
