Curriculum
At Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Primary School, we believe that, it is our mission to develop the curriculum in the context of our faith and that through the study of the subjects in the Creative Curriculum, children make sense of the world and enrich their understanding of it.
Our curriculum has been designed to deliver a coherent and integrated whole school topic approach, allowing for creativity and flexibility within a structured framework of expectations.
We deliver knowledge and skills-based teaching and learning opportunities in 'Creative Curriculum" subjects: History, Geography, Art and Design, Design and Technology, Music.
We also endeavour to develop the children's understanding, knowledge and skills of Science, MFL, RSE and Physical Education.
Through the faith centred topic approach we provide a shared context enabling each subject to be developed discretely while also enabling cross curricular learning including the promotion of Catholic Social Teachings (CST), British Values and Wellbeing.
We aim to promote excellence and enjoyment in teaching and learning, providing opportunities for exploring ideas, developing understanding, making links across different contexts and demonstrating their learning at the end of the topic in whole school celebrations and 'Sharings'.
